We started planning our wedding in September 99. For most planning a wedding is an ordeal. For us, it was even bigger. We
had distance to deal with. My (Shari) parents live in Ontario. More than 3000 miles from Taber, where the wedding was held.
Countless phone calls, emails, mailings took place for everything to turn out perfectly. And perfect it was! We could not
have asked for a more beautiful day. For September it was a record 30C, and the sun was shining all day! Allan comes from
a Ukranian decent, so we planned to have a Ukranian style wedding. Everything about the ceremony was new for me but, what
a beautiful and meaningful ceremony! Allan's Baba (grandmother) gave us the tradtional cloths in which we knelt, and had our
hands tied with. A keepsake for future generations. After the ceremony, the wedding party, parents and grandparents headed
to the park for pictures! Our wedding party was filled with friends and family. Best man and matron of honor was Adam and
Candy Tetrault. Bridesmaids were Jennifer Tetrault (Candy's sister), and Noreen Herwig (Shari's sister in law). Groomsmen
were Richard Herwig (Shari's brother)and Joe Kosowan (Allan's brother). Our ushers were Rodney Herwig (Shari's oldest brother
and husband to Noreen), and Dylan Tetrault (Jen's husband, also Adam's brother). Ring bearer was my nephew Alex Herwig (son
of Noreen and Rodney). Our flower girls were Brittany and Emily Tetrault (daughters of Jen and Dylan). And not to forget our
Candle lighters, Tanya Kosowan (Allan's sister) and Sharon Kruchkywich. So you can see, that we incorporated as many
of our friends and family as possible! After pictures, we all headed over to the reception! Allan and I were introduced
for the first time as Mr and Mrs Allan Kosowan. I am still getting used to the sound of that. A great meal was served,
including Ukranian dishes such as cabbage rolls and perogies. And after the toasts, we had our first dance together. We danced
to "How do I live" by Trisha Yearwood. My father and I danced to "Beautiful" by Joe Cocker. And then the
night was left for fun! Just before midnight, we left the reception through a bridge made by all the guests holding hands,
while "Love Can Build A Bridge" (the Judds) was played. Tears of love and joy fell many times that day! We
could not have had a more memorable day. We can not wait to share the pictures and memories with our children. Love
truly is the heart of all.
